Position Summary



The College of Liberal Arts Art and Design Department is seeking to fill a part-time position to teach: Ceramics I (Art 313) and Ceramics II/III/IV (Art 314, 413, 414 – offered as a stacked section) coursework in engaging, innovative, and discipline-appropriate ways that reflect a commitment to success and knowledge of the field.







Duties/Responsibilities 

  • Prepare and teach courses in Ceramics (Art 313, 314, 413, 414) to a diverse student population based on the department’s approved course learning outcomes, utilizing a variety of instructional strategies appropriate to the needs of students and the standards of the discipline.
  • Evaluate student progress and provide clear, timely feedback reflecting program learning outcomes and departmental expectations.
  • Loading and firing electric and gas kilns, mixing glazes and the ability to lift heavy objects that may exceed 25lbs.
  • Maintain a clean healthy studio environment.
  • Support other faculty in the ceramics studio as needed with regards to monitoring the studio lab times.






Required Knowledge and Skills



MFA or MA in Studio Art (Ceramics)

OR

Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in studio art.
