Job Summary
Reporting to the Chief of Campus Police, the Security Officer is responsible for protecting life and property and enforcing College policies and procedures across all campus sites. This includes conducting facility and safety checks, enforcing traffic and parking regulations, preparing basic reports, and other duties as needed.
Job Duties
&nbsp;• Protect life and property at all NeSCC and TCAT Elizabethton controlled properties.

First Responder Course Coordinator/Instructor shall mean an individual responsible for the overall coordination of the First Responder Program. The individual shall act as a liaison between the sponsoring agency, students, the local medical community and the Division of The individual is also responsible for the delivery of didactic material, demonstration of the psychomotor skills, and verification of skill proficiency.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Currently licensed as a Tennessee EMT-Basic or Paramedic without history of revocation, denial, or suspension of licensure and nominated by a sponsoring EMS agency.
2. Must be certified as a Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Instructor.
3. Pre-Hospital Experience: Minimum of one year practicing in the pre-hospital environment in Tennessee.
4. Letter of recommendation from sponsoring EMS agency.
Authorization renewal shall be contingent upon:
1. Maintaining current Tennessee licensure as an Emergency Medical Technician Basic or Paramedic without disciplinary action.
2. Maintaining current CPR instructor endorsement.

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED and a valid Tennessee operator license issued by the Tennessee Department of Safety are required. Meets the requirements of TCA 38-8-106, Qualifications of Police Officers: Be at least eighteen (18) years of age; Be a citizen of the United States; Be a high school graduate or possess equivalency; Not have been convicted of or pleaded guilty to or entered a plea of nolo contendere to any felony charge or to any violation of any federal or state laws or city ordinances relating to force, violence, theft, dishonesty, gambling, liquor or controlled substances; Not have been released or discharged under any other than honorable discharge from any of the armed forces of the United States; Have a good moral character as determined by a thorough investigation conducted by the employing agency.

Title: Temporary – Security Guard (Pool)
POSITION SUMMARY Provides general security services to the campus and assists campus police officers with routine patrols and other security measures.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Patrols campus by foot, bicycle or motor vehicle. Identifies and reports suspected crimes, accidents or activities of a questionable/suspicious nature. Reports accidents involving persons or property, reporting probable cause of accidents, pursuing appropriate course of action and informing proper authorities as required. Provides security for special events. Writes citations for parking violations.
Provides direction and/or instruction to faculty, staff and students in unusual or emergency situations. Participates in campus training for emergencies and for law enforcement officers. Monitors classrooms, offices and buildings for safety and/or maintenance concerns. Maintains and utilizes security equipment. Maintains department records and prepares reports. May testify in court or during legal proceedings as needed.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma or GED
Valid driver’s license
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Prior security or law enforcement experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Ability to work in varying conditions, including indoors and outdoors in all types of weather. Good customer service skills. Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with a diverse faculty, staff and student population. Demonstrated self-restraint in challenging and/or difficult situations. Demonstrated problem-solving skills. Ability to occasionally travel throughout the service area as needed.
Rate of Pay: $18.00 per hour
Work Hours: Up to 28 hours per week. Shifts and campus assignments vary and are based on current need.
