Physical Requirements

May include sitting or standing for greater than 5 hours at a time. May require the ability to reach items above shoulder level and be able to lift up to 30 pounds.



Shift

Current operating hours of UK Specialty Pharmacy services are Monday thru Friday 730am-5pm. Hours and days of the week subject to change based on the growth and needs of the department. Shifts to be scheduled to not be more than 40 hours per week and number of hours available may vary.



Job Summary

This position will provide a variety of specialty pharmacy services aimed at improving the care for patients enrolled within the UK HealthCare Specialty Pharmacy service. This position will provide oversight of a variety of areas, including appropriateness of prescription processing, workflow improvement, mail order support, patient counseling, and coordination of prescription with clinic-based and call-center based specialty pharmacists. This position will provide a high patient-touch service while obtaining affordable access to these medications, both cornerstones of a high functioning Specialty Pharmacy.



Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

Requires attention to detail and the ability to provide excellent customer service. Must be reliable and punctual. This position also requires teamwork, excellent communication skills and strong interpersonal skills. Must be able to communicate effectively in English within a diverse population. Creates and maintains cultures where all staff delivers friendly, patient centered care . Must know State and Federal regulatory dispensing requirements, have attention to detail, must maintain knowledge of drug specific storage and shipping requirements, knowledge of current laws, procedures, and pharmaceutical knowledge.
