Job Summary

We are seeking qualified adjuncts for the Music, Performing Arts and Music Technologies Department to teach MUS-185 Appreciation of Musical Theatre.The course charts the history of the American Musical from its roots in vaudeville and operetta to its flowering in the Golden Age of the 40s, 50s, up to the contemporary scene. Through the use of film clips, recordings, lectures and discussions, students will gain an understanding of an appreciation for one of American’s greatest contributions to the arts. All adjunct faculty positions have as their primary objective to create a dynamic teaching/learning environment for our students, while contributing service to the college. Adjunct faculty teach assigned courses in alignment with the course description and course outline established by the department. Appreciation of Musical Theatre sections run one day a week on Thurs., 3:30-6:15pm, in the Spring semester.



Qualifications - Education

BA in Music Required or Masters in Music preferred.



Qualifications - Experience

Prior college or university teaching experience preferred, as is evidence of scholarly and/or professional activities.



Qualifications - Skills

Demonstrated knowledge of discipline including current developments and technologies in related fields of specialization. Ability to work with diverse groups of students. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
