SUMMARY
The Human Resources Specialist/Assistant provides Human Resources support to TCAT Shelbyville, supports the President/Vice President as needed, manages the front office, and functions as the school's payroll officer.

RESPONSIBILITIES
<ul>
<li>Maintain personnel files for full-time and part-time employees across all campuses</li>
<li>Conduct new hire and employee orientations for all campuses (EPAF) and complete all required forms</li>
<li>Assist employees with data regarding personnel benefits, insurances, etc.</li>
<li>Prepares and executes payroll for full-time and part-time employees, working closely with TBR Shared Services and the TCAT Shelbyville business office</li>
<li>Functions as the backup timekeeper, tracking submissions of annual leave, sick leave, comp time, holidays, military leave, family leave, etc.</li>
<li>Maintain records and reports regarding employee leaves</li>
<li>Maintains, along with the Vice Presidents, the Employee Handbook, as well as local policies and procedures, in accordance with Tennessee Board of Regents policies and guidelines</li>
<li>Perform duties as the recording secretary for the General Advisory Committees/all college events that require minutes to be taken</li>
<li>Participates in the hiring process, including advertising of positions, collection of applications/resumes, letters to applicants, etc.</li>
<li>Acts as the liaison with TBR Shared Services in enrolling associates in and answering questions pertaining to benefits and payroll, withholdings, longevity, etc.</li>
</ul>
SPECIFIC DUTIES

<li>Serve as the institution’s Title VI Coordinator</li>
<li>Participate in in-service training, workshops, and other programs which provide professional growth.</li>

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

<li>Oversee academic programs in assigned disciplines including curriculum review, revision, development, course scheduling; identification of resources, budget development/implementation; assist in recruitment of students, course/program assessment and evaluation, reporting (including SACSCOC, TBR, governing, and programmatic accrediting bodies for division), and activities associated with programmatic accreditation. Ensure compliance with state-mandated performance measures and utilize data for program improvement.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>
<li>Design and implement strategies for measurable improvements in the performance of students in all assigned academic programs offered on all campuses or sites and on the Quality Assurance and Performance Funding metrics established by TBR.</li>
<li>Design and implement annual and long-range planning for appropriate academic departments to meet the goals of the MSCC strategic plan and TBR initiatives.</li>
<li>Respond to the needs of the local community by developing partnerships with industry leaders in fields related to their assigned disciplines in the service area.</li>
<li>Recruit, retain and support full time and adjunct faculty. Ensure that credentials comply with licensing and accreditation requirements.&nbsp; Plan and organize adjunct recruitment, orientation and training events for assigned academic departments across all campuses. Ensure completion and submission of faculty performance evaluations within established guidelines and timelines.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Conduct research into new academic programs and support approval and implementation process.</li>
<li>Support faculty, staff and students by enforcing college and department policies and procedures. Serve as contact for formal student complaints and grade appeals for assigned disciplines.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Implement the use of emerging and mobile technologies for classroom instruction</li>

AVAILABILITY/CLOSING DATE: This pool application posting does not guarantee an open position. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

SUMMARY
The evening Heating Ventilation Air-conditioning &amp; Refrigeration Instructor shall coordinate with the full-time program faculty and shall be directly responsible to the institution administration for effective performance of assigned responsibilities and duties. The instructor shall observe rules, policies, and regulations set forth by the Tennessee College of Applied Technology Shelbyville (TCAT), Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR), and the Council of Occupational Education (COE); and shall strive to promote and elevate the mission and philosophy of occupational education within the areas served. They shall keep abreast of industry standards and techniques, reviewing periodicals and industry magazines commensurate to the course being taught.&nbsp; The instructor shall follow and maintain a complete progressive course of study, lesson plans, assignments, and instructional aides to meet educational requirements and industry standards. They shall also oversee student conduct, motivation, safety, discipline, and appearance, addressing issues as they arise.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Salary: $15.53 per hour
Motlow State is located in the beautiful rolling hills of middle Tennessee and has four campuses that serve students from eleven counties. Motlow positions are contingent upon funding availability and budget approval.

General Function:&nbsp;
Orientation Leaders implement the Orientation program as well as provide a source of support for new first-year and transfer students. They work with small groups and guide them through the orientation process at Motlow State Community College.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent and successful completion of 24 semester credit hours of post-secondary education at a regionally accredited institution.
Preferred Qualifications:&nbsp; 
Currently enrolled students of Motlow State Community College with a minimum GPA of 2.5 and a minimum of 24 earned credits.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Serve as a representative of the college to incoming students</li>
<li>Create a positive and inviting environment to enhance the new student orientation experience for students and families by welcoming them to campus.</li>
<li>Assist with the operations of new student orientation as designated by orientation supervisor</li>
<li>Guide students and families to various locations/workshops on campus and provide campus tours to students and families creating familiarity with the campus location.</li>
<li>Assist students in registering for classes, parking tags, or other campus resources</li>
<li>Assist with presentation of materials for new student orientation</li>
<li>Serve as a leader of a team of incoming students during new student orientation</li>
<li>Advise students based on recommended courses provided by the campus advisement team.</li>
<li>Other duties as assigned</li>
</ul>
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
<ul>
<li>Knowledge of community colleges</li>
<li>Knowledge of Motlow State campus resources and services</li>
<li>Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community.</li>
<li>Ability to relate effectively to people of varied academic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds using tact, diplomacy, and courtesy</li>
<li>Ability to assist new students in having a successful start at Motlow State Community College</li>
<li>Ability to establish and maintain effective professional relationships with students, colleagues and other stakeholders.</li>
<li>Knowledge of customer service principles and practices and the ability to effectively apply them in the higher education environment.</li>
<li>Knowledge of confidentiality statutes and policies as they apply to FERPA</li>
</ul>
