Job Duties:
Develop and coordinate a schedule of educational and social events to create a high quality, vibrant, student life program that promotes student engagement and student success. Collaborate with faculty to develop programs to supplement in-class learning. In conjunction with Purchasing and Contracts and in alignment with Vol State procedures, negotiate and execute contracts with artists and agents to support calendar of events. Work with the Office of Marketing, Communications, and Media Services to implement plans for student activities and manage the campus activities calendar. Assist in coordinating and developing student engagement initiatives such as, but not limited to, wellness workshops and first-year experience programming to foster a supportive campus environment. Work with student organizations to guide groups on programming Develop and offer leadership training programs for student leaders and general student population. Serve as the primary advisor to the Student Government Association and the Campus Activities Board. Supervise the planning, organizing, and implementing of student organizations to include recruiting, training, and evaluating Student Organization advisors and members. Monitor the Student Government Association, Student Activities, and student organization budgets and oversee the distribution of the student activities fund/SGA account. Provide student activities support to Regional Centers. Work with other offices and division deans to support student activities. Assist with developing and maintain campus and community resource materials specific to each Vol State campus for students in need of community services. Assist with developing partnerships with local mental health agencies to provide resources and support for students experiencing emotional distress. In collaboration with the Manager of Student Engagement and key departments, coordinate student prevention programming and training to address drug and alcohol abuse, sexual misconduct, mental health issues, and other barriers to student success. Responsible for ensuring the ongoing assessment of all programs and services. Other duties as assigned.&nbsp;
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution. Three years of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Human Services, Counseling, Education, or related field from a regionally accredited institution. Experience in higher education and/or human/social services. Project management experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must possess excellent oral, written and decision-making skills. Must be committed to a positive customer service philosophy and able to embrace varied ideas and viewpoints. Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Director of Learning Commons, the Coordinator of Learning Commons assists the Director with the coordination of academic student support services designed to enhance student learning and promote student success. This position assists with the academic support offerings at all Volunteer State Community College campuses.
Job Duties:
Assist with the facilitation of on ground and online tutoring with guidance from the Director of Learning Commons and the academic departments. Delegate and oversee projects assigned to the Learning Commons staff members and work study students. Serve as an academic coach, providing intentional, individual student support (including student athletes post-advising) aimed at fostering academic student success. Facilitate online tutoring services and monitor usage of any online contract services, making service adjustments as needed to stay within budget. Obtain intake information from prospective and current students for assistance in the Learning Commons and ensure maintenance of said student records for students receiving assistance in the Learning Commons. Work collaboratively with various departments and divisions to support the mission of the College and the Learning Commons. Provide support to the Director of Learning Commons with budget preparation, and development and submission of annual Continuous Improvement Plans. Prepare reports as needed for department and the Office of Research, Assessment, and Special Initiatives. Collaborate with and provide support to the Learning Commons at off-campus locations. Serve as a proxy to the Director of Learning Commons when they are out of the office. Develop and maintain Learning Commons website, LibGuides, and LibCal ensuring accessibility standards are met. Minimum Qualifications:

Title: Events Coordinator
POSITION SUMMARY The Events Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the successful implementation of non-classroom related events for internal stakeholders and external clients across all Nashville State Community College locations, serving as the turn-key liaison for managing both internal and external client relationships as it pertains to scheduling and coordinating events hosted on all of the College’s seven campuses.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Coordinate and plan events, including working with potential clients to seek all applicable event details, conduct facility walk-throughs with clients as needed, communicate event information to college staff and campus partners, ensure event details are executed according to client contracts and college policies, ensure the College is represented well in the community and serve as manager on duty for assigned campus events. Manage and oversee operational and relational leadership to foster growth, address functional/operational issues and ensure equitable scheduling to ensure successful event execution in college spaces. Oversee the event management reservation process, ensuring that events are reviewed, approved and updated in a timely and comprehensive manner. This includes ensuring that rooms are correctly reserved in College systems, that updates to event needs are communicated to supporting departments and that all approvals, revisions or non-approvals are communicated to clients.
Secure event contracts and related documents, including lease agreements, usage policies, expense estimates, certificates of insurance and deposit payments. Coordinate and schedule campus support services, including facilities, maintenance, security, technical services and communications and marketing as required. Manage and maintain client accounts and database, including maintaining accurate billing information for each event, assisting with vendor invoice verification and coordinating with facilities to ensure client invoices are received and paid.
Assist in the development and distribution of directional signage for client events, including conducting accurate research and concisely summarizing information to facilitate the process. Manage inventory of college event resources such as, but not limited to, tablecloths, event signage, food and beverage supplies. Review existing event management processes and systems and advise on how to build a more efficient event management system, including developing a process to regularly evaluate the event management process to support continuous process improvement. Train college staff on use of the event management system.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Associate’s degree
Two years' experience in arena, theater, convention center or hospitality operations
Must be familiar with event life-cycle from booking to post-even wrap up, including the demonstrated ability to answer inquiries about available dates, estimate client expenses, explain usage policies, contract the event and fully direct the needs of the event with regard to production, technical support, facilities support, etc.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree, preferably in hospitality or business management

POSITION SUMMARY Serves as the primary point of contact for basic administrative, instructional and facilities support for evening operations at the Dickson Campus. Acts as an evening resource for faculty, staff and students and responds to emergencies during evening hours.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Is the principal point of contact for evening operations. Facilitates the use of campus facilities during evening hours. Title: Computer Technician Coordinator (Internal Candidates Only)
POSITION SUMMARY Supports the Technology Services Department by supervising a team of computer technicians and performing and coordinating complex computer maintenance through effective troubleshooting and repair of computers, peripherals, data communications or computer network systems in classrooms and instructional spaces for the College’s six extended campuses.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Under general direction, independently assign and review work of computer technicians who perform complex troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, installation and testing activities, such as designing and fabricating specialized interfaces and communication links. In consultation with department leaders, plan and oversee complex installation projects. Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs. Research and advise department leaders on the acquisition of new computing equipment.
Serve as a back-up computer technician as needed. Assist the department’s service desk with troubleshooting issues in the field. Supervises computer technicians on the College’s extended campuses, including providing training and guidance and setting appropriate goals and expectations for optimal job performance. Ensure all projects are properly recorded and documented in the service desk system. Maintain an inventory of critical parts and supplies for computer preventative and remedial maintenance.
Assist with the obtaining quotes for and the ordering of hardware and software products. Conduct and maintain an asset management system of computer equipment, software and associated peripherals for assigned areas. Lead problem-solving efforts with internal offices/colleagues and external vendors regarding equipment, technology and processes as needed. Provide responsive and transparent support to campus partners, ensuring the department delivers excellent customer. Stay current with audio visual equipment and technologies utilized by the campus community.
