The primary role of the Business Development Coordinator will be to identify and guide small-medium sized producers and supply chain entities (beneficiaries) through readiness for capacity building and expansion. The Business Development Coordinator serves as the first point of contact in the dissemination of information and resources available to the beneficiaries by way of the RGC-RFBC to the greater New Mexico and Texas community. The Business Development Coordinator will develop a caseload of beneficiaries whom they will work with for up to four years. The Outreach and Business Caseworker will travel across several counties throughout Texas and New Mexico. Purpose of Position Essential Functions Statement of Duties and Responsibilities: <ul><li>Works collaboratively with faculty, staff, and Colleges in developing, leading and assessing leadership development programs/activities for university student population.</li><li>Oversee the continuous development and implementation of the Miners Leadership Initiative whose goal is to educate and enhance student leadership skills. </li><li>Manages the Distinguished Leadership Speaker Series, which spotlights groundbreaking and thought-provoking off campus leaders while having them engage with UTEP students through a variety of captivating talks and discussions.</li><li>Create a leadership development model, vision and/or plan for the department that outlines programs, events, and opportunities for students to participate in throughout their experience at UTEP utilizing relevant and applicable concepts. </li><li>Support with the creation and assessment of learning outcomes to measure program effectiveness, knowledge acquisition, and progress of students' leadership development.</li><li>Leads the committees for both Miners Leadership Summit and Leadership Awards which are held every spring.</li><li>Serve as primary advisor to the National Society of Leadership and Success chapter.</li><li>Serve as Campus Security Authority as outlined by the Clery Act.</li><li>Serve on division and campus-wide committees.</li><li>Will be required to participate in university wide events such as Texas Western Gold Rush, Minerpalooza, Orange &amp; Blue Day, Commencement, and Project Move with advance notice.</li><li>Must be available for evening and weekend work as required. On occasion, may be called to write press releases, news and feature stories, speeches, op-eds and other communication pieces. Actively seeks out and develops UTEP stories of students, faculty, staff and alumni that can be used to convey one or more of the University's strategic messages through various mediums.
