POSITION SUMMARY This position provides dynamic and effective leadership and coordinates the educational, administrative, and financial affairs within the School of Business and Professional Studies by creating a work environment that supports faculty in producing continuous improvement and ensures that programs are good quality, relevant to students’ goals and aligns with industry need. This position is also responsible for collaborating with the Executive Director of Workforce Development to develop non-credit to credit opportunities within the division to include stackable credentials, work-based learning opportunities and prior learning assessment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Develops, evaluates and continually improves academic courses and programs, in collaboration with faculty, that are consistent with the College mission and strategic plan. Ensures that all programs meet accreditation guidelines and standards. Directs periodic assessment of all courses and programs, demonstrating use of assessment to improve offerings. Supervises the evaluation of transfer credit, prior learning assessment and course substitutions within the division. Supervises program faculty and staff within the division to create a collegial, productive professional work environment. Provides formal and informal review and evaluation of faculty and staff within the division, including faculty promotion and tenure applications. Recruits and makes employment recommendations consistent with the College policies. Supervises orientation of new faculty/staff to ensure understanding of policies and procedures.
Works with Campus Directors to manage the development and compilation of class schedules and teaching/classroom assignments within the division. Directs the administration of all budgets within the division. Works in close partnership with Academic Affairs, Student Services, Workforce Development and other areas of the college to create, maintain and expand programming that will meet community and workforce needs and advance the mission of the College as a whole. Supervises the establishment and maintenance of effective program advisory committees for all AAS and technical certificate programs in the division. Serves on the leadership team of the Vice President for Academic Affairs and on other college and system-wide committees as appropriate. POSITION SUMMARY Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Senior Administrative Associate performs a variety of administrative and clerical functions in the human resources department to meet compliance requirements and internal/external deadlines and to support the strategic goals of the department.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Greets visitors, screens/routes calls, processes department mail and responds to general inquiries related to the College’s applicant tracking system (ATS), job postings and application process. POSITION SUMMARY Administration of the Dual Enrollment/Middle College Grant programs and the Federal Work-Study (FWS) Program.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for maintaining a thorough understanding of the state guidelines applicable to the Dual Enrollment and Middle College grant processes. General Function:&nbsp;
Provides leadership to the implementation of institutional mentoring and student coaching programs, BUCKS Scholars Academy, MP3, relational mentoring and advising programs, and first-year relational mentoring programs. Supervises peer mentors who will provide supplemental support to specific student groups such as probation students, learning support students and other high need populations.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree earned from a regionally accredited institution 
Preferred Qualifications:&nbsp; 
Master’s degree earned from a regionally accredited institution and Three (3) years prior experience in higher education student service position(s) advising, student success coaching, career services, mentoring; experience working with student initiatives or services
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Provide leadership, direction, strategic planning, development and implementation of successful peer mentoring efforts. Recruit, supervise, and train peer mentors. Provide advocacy and expertise related to faculty and staff mentors.
•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Provide academic advisement and assistance to students in assigned caseload or populations by creating academic plans, recommending programs of study, making course recommendations, and providing academic strategies to students based on their educational and career goals.
•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Provide students accurate and complete information on degree programs, course requirements, graduation, and various other academic issues associated with completion and success of students with the goal of reasonable time to degree with the least amount of cumulative attempted hours; Providing academic advising support to faculty and various administrative staff in the form of training and information updates.
•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Develop reports and maintain data associated with the required outcomes for the relational advising grant, relational advising model and TN Promise program to submit to Tennessee Board of Regents.
•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Assists the Student Engagement and Retention Initiatives with implementation and coordination of College-Wide retention initiatives.
•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Articulate the campus vision of mentoring and student success coaching, including outreach to students, faculty, staff, and the community.
•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Coordinate peer mentoring efforts for identified student populations i.e. adult learners, veterans
•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Maintain mentoring/coaching caseload with case management technologies.
•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Works closely with college administration to organize student success initiatives
•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Works with the Director of Financial Aid, offices of Admissions and Records, Disability and Testing Services, and Career Planning to ensure that appropriate student services are provided to program participants. Works closely with college administration to organize student success initiatives to foster a spirit of cross-campus communication and collaboration in support of the mentoring initiatives.
•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Serve as a resource person for faculty and staff as needed; clarify student issues and work with students, other advisors, administrators, faculty, academic deans, Financial Aid, Admissions, Records and the site campus deans to reduce barriers to student success and completion for the identified student groups.
•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Provide coverage of the Student Advising center or attend events evenings or weekends during periods of increased student need or during peak student usage.
•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Performs other duties as assigned

<li>Ability to interpret and apply written instruction and documentation, policies and procedures, research new techniques and new media, correspond with faculty and staff in order to explain procedures and complete processes, perform basic math, convey academic policies and procedures, discuss and promote mentoring and related programs, plan, develop and implement strategic goals and program initiatives.</li>

Title: Instructor, Biology - 9/10 Month (Term) - North Davidson Campus
POSITION SUMMARY This position is responsible for delivering quality instruction in an equitable environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Teach courses via on-ground day and evening, hybrid or web-enhanced delivery modes as assigned. Work with course leads and/or program coordinators to ensure consistent and equitable student experiences Utilize the college’s learning management system to provide course materials to students. Submit updated course syllabi prior to the first day of class.
Regularly check your NSCC email and your departmental mailbox. Respond to emails/messages within 48 hours except on the weekend. Complete all required reports such as student engagement, Early Alerts, progress reports, grade submissions; administer and return surveys and student outcome assessments by the required deadlines. Engage in departmental institutional effectiveness activities. Submit final grades for each semester by the deadline established by the registrar. Serve as academic advisor to students as assigned. Comply with all college and TBR policies and guidelines. This position will be based on the North Davidson campus in Madison with teaching assignments at the Southeast campus in Antioch. Additional teaching assignments are possible at any campus or site at which NSCC instruction takes place.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Master’s degree in Biology (OR) Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in Biology
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Collegiate level teaching experience.
Ability to teach a variety of biology courses including Human Anatomy and Physiology.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Knowledge and/or experience using a variety of instructional delivery modes. Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
