SUMMARY
The evening Heating Ventilation Air-conditioning &amp; Refrigeration Instructor shall coordinate with the full-time program faculty and shall be directly responsible to the institution administration for effective performance of assigned responsibilities and duties. The instructor shall observe rules, policies, and regulations set forth by the Tennessee College of Applied Technology Shelbyville (TCAT), Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR), and the Council of Occupational Education (COE); and shall strive to promote and elevate the mission and philosophy of occupational education within the areas served. They shall keep abreast of industry standards and techniques, reviewing periodicals and industry magazines commensurate to the course being taught.&nbsp; The instructor shall follow and maintain a complete progressive course of study, lesson plans, assignments, and instructional aides to meet educational requirements and industry standards. They shall also oversee student conduct, motivation, safety, discipline, and appearance, addressing issues as they arise.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
<ul>
<li>High school graduate or the equivalent as determined by the High School Equivalency Test (HiSET)</li>
<li>EPA section 608 Universal Certification required.</li>
<li>3+ years of approved work experience in the occupation to be taught.</li>
<li>Valid driver’s license.</li>
</ul>
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
<ul>
<li>Associate degree or diploma from an accredited technical training program in the related field.</li>
<li>3+ years technical teaching experience.</li>
<li>5+ years industry related experience.</li>
<li>Knowledge of Safety Data Sheet (SDS) labeling and policy.</li>
<li>OSHA 10 certification.</li>
<li>EPA Certified</li>
<li>Classroom experience and administrative experience in delivery of workforce education and competency-based training preferred.</li>

RESPONSIBILITIES
<ul>
<li>Ensure program aligns with all Tennessee College of Applied Technology Shelbyville (TCAT), Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR), and Council of Occupational Education (COE) policy requirements.</li>
<li>Maintain knowledge of industry trends and technological advances in the industry.</li>
<li>Maintain an organized, safe, and stable learning environment that is conducive to all (COE) accreditation requirements.</li>
<li>Follow lesson plans, implement active learning activities to accommodate different learning styles, and teach industry skills and competencies commensurate to the course.</li>
<li>Utilize reliable formative and summative in-class assessment tools/techniques to measure student achievement of course competencies.</li>
<li>Follow grading criteria and utilize Banner to record and submit grades and attendance (tardiness and absences) daily.</li>
<li>Distribute student syllabus at the beginning of the course to define course competencies, performance criteria, established approved grading procedures and standards, attendance and class policies/procedures, and other necessary information to students.</li>
<li>Teach worker ethics curriculum, interpersonal skills, post-secondary workforce skills, and soft skills within the standard industry framework.</li>
<li>Demonstrate a commitment to student success by providing guidance and advice to students regarding program areas, course progress, and academic and disciplinary issues.</li>
<li>Coordinate all disciplinary issues with administration and student services coordinator.</li>
<li>Coordinate with Technology Foundations Instructor to schedule student instruction times.</li>
<li>Promote program specific career technical student organizations to all students (SkillsUSA, Student Government Association (SGA), etc.)</li>
<li>Provide work -based learning opportunities to all students.</li>
<li>Coordinate student career guidance options with Career Services Coordinator.</li>
<li>Conduct follow-up on employment of graduates and maintain follow-up records on former students.</li>
<li>Be responsible for and maintain inventory, control, and maintenance of all equipment, tools, and supplies assigned to the department’s classroom and lab. Report loss or damage immediately.</li>
<li>Coordinate the need for equipment, tools, and supplies with the instructor and make recommendations for items needed for the program.</li>
</ul>
SPECIFIC DUTIES
<ul>
<li>Adhere to the school calendar and daily class schedule.</li>
<li>Start and end class at designated time.</li>
<li>Perform student surveys each trimester.</li>
<li>Participate in regularly scheduled staff climate surveys.</li>
<li>Check and respond to emails twice daily.</li>
<li>Attend staff meetings, as requested.</li>
<li>Work a maximum of 18 hours per week (non-exempt); additional hours must be approved in advance.</li>
<li>Other duties as defined by administration.</li>

Motlow State is located in the beautiful rolling hills of middle Tennessee and has four campuses that serve students from eleven counties. Motlow positions are contingent upon funding availability and budget approval.

General Function:&nbsp;
Orientation Leaders implement the Orientation program as well as provide a source of support for new first-year and transfer students. They work with small groups and guide them through the orientation process at Motlow State Community College.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent and successful completion of 24 semester credit hours of post-secondary education at a regionally accredited institution.
Preferred Qualifications:&nbsp; 
Currently enrolled students of Motlow State Community College with a minimum GPA of 2.5 and a minimum of 24 earned credits.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Serve as a representative of the college to incoming students</li>
<li>Create a positive and inviting environment to enhance the new student orientation experience for students and families by welcoming them to campus.</li>
<li>Assist with the operations of new student orientation as designated by orientation supervisor</li>
<li>Guide students and families to various locations/workshops on campus and provide campus tours to students and families creating familiarity with the campus location.</li>
<li>Assist students in registering for classes, parking tags, or other campus resources</li>
<li>Assist with presentation of materials for new student orientation</li>
<li>Serve as a leader of a team of incoming students during new student orientation</li>
<li>Advise students based on recommended courses provided by the campus advisement team.</li>
<li>Other duties as assigned</li>

General Function:&nbsp;
Assists with maintaining the Banner Finance accounting software and coordinating accounting operations for the College to assist with verifying accounting records are maintained in accordance with governing policies, procedures and regulations; assisting with the preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules, assisting with budget preparation, bank reconciliations and other financial reporting.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree earned from a regionally accredited institution with a major in accounting and three years of accounting work experience including reviewing and preparing financial statements.

An Associate degree earned from a regionally accredited institution with a major in accounting and at least five years of accounting work experience including reviewing or preparing financial statements.
Preferred Qualifications:&nbsp; 
Bachelor’s degree earned form a regionally accredited institution in accounting or related field with one (1) year experience with Banner by Ellucian software; with three (3) years’ experience working with budgets and experience reviewing and preparing financial statements.&nbsp;
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Assist with maintaining Banner ERP system for finance and assists with upgrades and new applications as required.</li>
<li>Prints all vendor checks using Banner and Evisions Intellecheck software</li>
<li>Prepare and gather information for internal and external auditors, answer audit questions and provide variance explanations.</li>
<li>Prepares annual financial statements and support schedules; Assists with preparation of year-end adjustments and closing entries; Assists with budget preparation and prepares various spreadsheet analyses, i.e., revenue projections and expenditure cost allocations, as requested to support the budget process and operation of the College</li>
<li>Assists with cash management including preparing monthly bank reconciliations for the college.</li>
<li>Provide training and routinely answer questions from the campus regarding departmental budgets.</li>
<li>Grant accounting and reporting; Prepare the calculation for the federal Indirect Cost Rate and assist with the indirect cost proposal and submission.</li>
<li>Review and reconcile funds, accounts and programs – especially restricted, agency funds, correct use of program codes and others as assigned.</li>
<li>Provides accounting and other support for the payroll function as needed.</li>
<li>Reviews equipment depreciation calculations for the College.</li>
<li>Prepares college, TBR, THEC and other reports including Preparing the annual IPEDS finance submission and the annual Schedule of Federal Awards (SEFA) submission.</li>
<li>Performs necessary functions relating to unclaimed property and sales tax reporting.</li>
<li>Other duties as assigned</li>
</ul>

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
<ul>
<li>Knowledge of Ellucian Banner and Evisions software.</li>
<li>Knowledge of accounting procedures, fund accounting, financial statement preparation, and grant accounting.</li>
<li>Confident in using initiative, prioritizing workload, and meeting deadlines.</li>
<li>Maintains confidentiality of information and works in accordance with FERPA guidelines on the information disclosure</li>
<li>Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community</li>
