SUMMARY
The Industrial Maintenance and Automation Instructor shall be directly responsible to the institution administration for effective performance of assigned responsibilities and duties. The instructor shall observe rules, policies, and regulations set forth by the Tennessee College of Applied Technology Shelbyville (TCAT), Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR), and the Council of Occupational Education (COE); and shall strive to promote and elevate the mission and philosophy of occupational education within the areas served. They shall keep abreast of industry standards and techniques by visiting industry partners, continuing education, and reviewing periodicals and industrial magazines commensurate to the course being taught.&nbsp; The instructor shall develop and maintain a complete progressive course of study, lesson plans, assignments, and instructional aides to meet educational requirements and industry standards. They shall also oversee student conduct, motivation, safety, discipline, and appearance, addressing issues as they arise. The instructor shall build and cultivate partnering relationships with schools, business, and industry partners to promote the ideals of occupational education and implement an effective placement program for students.&nbsp;
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
<ul>
<li>High school graduate or the equivalent as determined by the High School Equivalency Test (HiSET).</li>
<li>3+ years of approved work experience in the occupation to be taught.</li>
</ul>
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
<ul>
<li>Associate degree or diploma from an accredited technical training program in the related field.</li>
<li>3+ years technical teaching experience.</li>
<li>5+ years industry related experience.</li>
<li>Knowledge of Safety Data Sheet (SDS) labeling and policy.</li>
<li>OSHA 10 certification.</li>
<li>Classroom experience and administrative experience in delivery of workforce education and competency-based training preferred.</li>

RESPONSIBILITIES
<ul>
<li>Ensure the program aligns with all Tennessee College of Applied Technology Shelbyville (TCAT), Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR), and Council of Occupational Education (COE) policy requirements.</li>
<li>Maintain a current knowledge of industry trends and technological advances in the industry.</li>
<li>Maintain an organized, safe, and stable learning environment that is conducive to all (COE) accreditation requirements.</li>
<li>Evaluate and select textbooks and reference materials, prepare curriculum, develop lesson plans, implement active learning activities to accommodate different learning styles, and teach industry skills and competencies commensurate to the course.</li>
<li>Prepare and/or select and utilize reliable formative and summative in-class assessment tools/techniques to measure student achievement of course competencies.</li>
<li>Establish grading criteria and utilize Banner to record and submit grades and attendance (tardiness and absences) daily.</li>
<li>Distribute student syllabus at the beginning of the course to define course competencies, performance criteria, established approved grading procedures and standards, attendance and class policies/procedures, and other necessary information to students.</li>
<li>Teach worker ethics curriculum, interpersonal skills, post-secondary workforce skills, and soft skills within the standard industry framework.</li>
<li>Demonstrate a commitment to student success by providing guidance and advice to students regarding program areas, course progress, and academic and disciplinary issues.</li>
<li>Coordinate all disciplinary issues with administration and student services coordinator.</li>
<li>Coordinate with Technology Foundations Instructor to schedule student instruction times.</li>
<li>Promote program specific career technical student organizations to all students (SkillsUSA, Student Government Association (SGA), etc.)</li>
<li>Coordinate with the Recruitment Coordinator and the Dual Enrollment Coordinator to present program information and promote dual enrollment opportunities to high schools and community.</li>
<li>Meet and collaborate with industry partners on technological advances related to program and occupation.</li>
<li>Establish a high quality, active Occupational Advisory Committee (OAC) per COE guidance and perform no less than two (2) OAC meetings per academic year.</li>
<li>Provide work -based learning opportunities to all students.</li>
<li>Coordinate student career guidance options with Career Services Coordinator.</li>
<li>Conduct follow-up on employment of graduates and maintain follow-up records on former students.</li>
<li>Be responsible for and maintain inventory, control, and light repair of all equipment, tools, and supplies assigned to the department’s classroom and lab. Report loss or damage immediately.</li>
<li>Be responsible for and maintain program budget to coordinate the need for equipment, tools, and supplies; make recommendations for and submit Purchase Orders for items needed for the program.</li>
<li>SPECIFIC DUTIES</li>
<li>Adhere to the school calendar and daily class schedule.</li>
<li>Start and end class at designated time.</li>
<li>Perform student surveys each trimester.</li>
<li>Participate in in-service training, workshops, and other programs which provide professional growth.</li>
<li>Participate in regularly scheduled staff climate surveys.</li>

<li>Coordinate annual leave to coincide with student breaks.</li>

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree earned from a regionally accredited institution in accounting or related business field, active CPA or CIA certification, and at least five years of professional auditing experience. Professional accounting experience may be substituted for the professional auditing experience on a year for year basis up to two years. Demonstrated professional experience in managing projects. Documented experience working independently.
Preferred Qualifications:&nbsp; 
Master’s degree earned from a regionally accredited institution in accounting or related business field, active CPA or CIA certification, and at least five years of professional auditing experience including experience working in higher education, and auditing large computerized accounting and information systems such as Banner (Ellucian). Documented professional supervisory experience.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:

<li>Direct a comprehensive program of internal audit for the purpose of determining the adequacy of the institution’s systems of internal control for continuous improvement, risk management and fraud awareness; efficiency and effectiveness of financial, administrative and academic management; and verification of compliance with policies and procedures of the College and Tennessee Board of Regents, state and federal laws and regulations,</li>

<li>Responsible for administration and oversight of operation of campus energy management system and acts as the Energy Manager for all MSCC facilities.&nbsp; Support efficient use of energy resources through utilization of building automation systems and technology.&nbsp; Responsible for updating the campus Emergency Preparedness Plan and the testing of all safety equipment.</li>
<li>Serve as Facilities Coordinator to the Tennessee Board of Regents Facilities Development Staff and represents the college in all matters pertaining to college facilities; college coordinator for capital outlay and capital maintenance construction projects; prepares the annual capital outlay and capital maintenance budget requests that are submitted to TBR facilities staff; coordinate and provide project management of all in-house construction/renovation projects.&nbsp; Responsible for all fieldwork, liaison with contractors, construction inspections, and coordination of construction/construction-related activities for all Office of Facilities Development, Tennessee Board of Regents/State Building Commission initiated capital outlay and capital maintenance projects.</li>
<li>Develop and annually update year-out maintenance plans (i.e., vehicle replacement, painting of campus facilities, ADA plan, Access plan, etc.).&nbsp; Responsible for coordinating the department’s environmental compliance and the environmental management of MSCC physical resources with the third-party Safety Coordinator. Responsible for compilation and updating of the Physical Facilities Inventory (PFI).</li>
<li>Act as liaison to College officials and consulting architects for campus Master Plan. Assist Facilities Planning in the development of long-range capital projects for campus facilities and building maintenance. Oversee all facilities maintenance, renovation and new construction projects.</li>
<li>Assist with review and updating of college policies; serve on various committees as assigned.</li>
<li>Effectively communicate complex facilities-related information and systems, such as engineering, architectural, mechanical, construction, building and fire codes, and sustainability to a wide audience with a commitment to audience understanding and transparency.</li>

SUMMARY Part-time / Substitute Instructors are responsible for delivering quality instruction in their field of expertise as it relates to the programs offered at the Tennessee College of Applied Technology Shelbyville, one of our extension campuses located in Winchester and Fayetteville TN., or at a specific teaching location.&nbsp;
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Credential from a technical or community college, teaching experience, and work experience in the area being taught.

RESPONSIBILITIES

<li>Administer/proctor tests for students and outside organizations.</li>
<li>Utilize Banner to record and submit grades and attendance (tardiness and absences) daily.</li>
<li>Distribute student syllabus at the beginning of the course to define course competencies, performance criteria, established approved grading procedures and standards, attendance and class policies/procedures, and other necessary information to students.</li>
<li>Demonstrate a commitment to student success by providing guidance to students regarding course progress, and academic and disciplinary issues.</li>
<li>Coordinate all disciplinary issues with administration and Student Services Coordinator.</li>
<li>Coordinate the need for supplies with the instructor and make recommendations for items needed for the program.</li>
</ul>
SPECIFIC DUTIES
<ul>
<li>Adhere to the school calendar and daily class schedule.</li>
<li>Start and end class at designated time.</li>
<li>Perform student surveys each trimester.</li>
<li>Participate in regularly scheduled staff climate surveys.</li>
<li>Check and respond to emails twice daily.</li>
<li>Coordinate necessary absences with VP of Operations and to coincide with student breaks.</li>
<li>Work a maximum of 20 hours per week.</li>
<li>Other duties as defined by administration.</li>

First Responder Course Coordinator/Instructor shall mean an individual responsible for the overall coordination of the First Responder Program. Major Duties and Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Teach courses as assigned in accordance with the catalog description and the approved course syllabus; Teach dual enrollment classes at area high school as assigned; Travel to multiple campuses as assigned</li>
<li>Collaborate collegially with faculty, Department Lead, and curriculum chair about curricular and programmatic issues and needs</li>
<li>Collaborate collegially with faculty, administration and staff to support the students, strategic plan, goals and business operations of the college; Work collegially as part of both discipline-specific and multidisciplinary teams</li>
<li>Stay abreast of current developments in the teaching discipline including scholarship, creative research, disciplinary and interdisciplinary activities that focus on the boundaries of knowledge, community-based scholarship, creative activities, and the development of cutting-edge teaching approaches</li>
<li>Teach up to 12credit hours per semester as assigned</li>
<li>Maintain availability for meetings with students and colleagues as needed throughout the semester.</li>
<li>Respond promptly to the Dean’s requests</li>
<li>Submit all requested paperwork timely and completely</li>
<li>Perform all duties in accordance with both TBR and MSCC policies</li>
<li>Attend Adjunct Orientation</li>
<li>Other duties as assigned</li>
</ul>
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
<ul>
<li>Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community</li>
<li>Strong computer skills, to include college database (Banner) management, word processing, creating spreadsheets, e-mail, and the internet</li>
<li>Knowledge of confidentiality statutes and policies as they apply to FERPA</li>
<li>Ability to effectively communicate, both in writing and verbally, with students, fellow employees, college administrators, and other stakeholders</li>

Motlow State is located in the beautiful rolling hills of middle Tennessee and has four campuses that serve students from eleven counties.&nbsp; Motlow positions are contingent upon funding availability and budget approval.
General Function:&nbsp;
Provide high quality effective instruction in accordance with the catalog description and the approved course syllabus; Facilitate student learning, and perform evaluations of student learning for all assigned classes, using each course’s standard course outline as a guide.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree in discipline or a qualifying field from a regionally accredited college or university or a Master’s degree in any field with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in discipline or a qualifying field from a regionally accredited college or university by the application date.
Qualifying fields and courses include Geography.
Preferred Qualifications:
Doctoral degree in discipline or a qualifying field from a regionally accredited college or university or a Master’s degree in any field with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in discipline or a qualifying field from a regionally accredited college or university by the application date.
