Job Summary
The chief academic officer reports to the president and is responsible for the overall operation of the academic unit of the college. Working collaboratively with colleagues, the chief academic officer provides leadership in the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of the instructional units of the college. The chief academic officer is a key collaborator in the college’s strategic planning efforts.




Job Duties:
Leadership: • To provide leadership to the academic unit consistent with the mission of the college. • To promote academic integrity and create an effective teaching and learning environment. • To provide leadership in concert with college academic officers and the KCTCS Chancellor to enhance academic initiatives. • To participate in professional organizations and professional development opportunities. Communication: • To maintain effective communication in the academic arena among all units of the local college, Kentucky Community and Technical College System, other educational institutions, and the community at large. • To maintain open communication channels with the leaders in the academic unit (e.g., convene regular meetings with deans and other academic personnel). Faculty: • To be responsible, with the faculty and deans, for the recruitment and retention of full-time, part-time, and volunteer faculty, as well as staff personnel supporting the instructional unit. • To promote the professional development of faculty. • To be responsible with the president/ceo and deans for the development of the faculty performance review forms. • To work with the president/ceo, deans, and academic leadership to facilitate the faculty promotion and tenure process. Students: • To facilitate effective academic processes and procedures that foster student success.

This position focuses on supporting students’ career development and career readiness by building strong connections between academic programs, faculty, employers, and community partners. The Career Coordinator plays a key role in helping students explore career options, prepare for employment, and successfully transitioning from education to the workforce. The Career Coordinator provides comprehensive career services, including career exploration, job readiness support, and employer engagement. This position collaborates closely with faculty, workforce partners, alumni, and community organizations to align student pathways with regional workforce needs. Job Duties:

 Administrative &amp; Financial Duties • Maintain the Center’s annual events calendar. • Prepare deposits, money, and checkout sheets for the Business Office. • Prepare and analyze monthly reconciliation and ProCard reports for general expense and gift shop accounts. • Maintain and update membership records; issue new and renewal membership cards.
 Gift Shop Management • Contact vendors and place orders for resale merchandise. • Maintain inventory and serve as salesperson for the gift shop.
 Communications &amp; Digital Support • Assist with updates to the Science Center’s website and Facebook page.

Big Sandy Community &amp; Technical College is seeking a dedicated KNAT/CNA Program Coordinator/Staff Instructor to lead and facilitate Nurse Aide (NAA 100), Advanced CNA (ACNA), and Medication Nurse Aide courses. This twelve-month position resides in the Workforce Solutions department and plays a vital role in training and preparing students for state certification exams and ensuring compliance with Medicaid regulations.




Job Duties:
• Instruction: Teach NAA 100, ACNA, Phlebotomy and Medication Nurse Aide courses each semester; prepare students&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;for state certification exams. • Compliance &amp; Documentation: Maintain program compliance with Medicaid rules, manage training site requirements,&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;schedule and document NAA/KMA testing and manage the phlebotomy program. • Student Success: Monitor student progress, provide support for retention and completion, and assist at-risk students. • Industry Engagement: Review MOAs for clinical rotations and promote program opportunities to healthcare partners. • Supervision: Direct supervision of 4 staff members (KNAT Testing Staff and Adjunct Faculty) • Other Duties assigned by supervisor.

Job Summary
Big Sandy Community &amp; Technical College is seeking qualiﬁed candidates for the position of Adjunct Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Instructor. This is a temporary, part-time position designed to ﬁll instructional needs in EMS education, including classroom, lab, and ﬁeld instruction. Teaching assignments may include day, evening, weekend, and/or online courses. 




Job Duties:
• Deliver engaging and effective instruction in EMS courses aligned with state and national standards. • Provide hands-on training in emergency medical procedures, including patient assessment, airway management,&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;trauma care, and more. • Evaluate student performance through exams, practical assessments, and assignments. • Supervise and assess student field internships, including QI/QA of reports and preceptor coordination. • Maintain accurate records, gradebooks, and documentation. • Assist with curriculum development, course revisions, and public relations events. • Ensure student compliance with immunization and field readiness requirements. • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and college-wide initiatives. &nbsp; Promote a positive learning environment that fosters student success and professionalism. &nbsp; Occasional travel between campuses and for professional development, including overnight stays. • Minimum of 12 hours per week, with flexibility for additional hours as needed. • May include a combination of day, evening, and weekend hours.




Minimum Qualifications:
• Current Kentucky Paramedic License with Level IV EMS Instructor Endorsement. • Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS. • Instructor certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, PEPP, AMLS, and PHTLS (or ability to obtain within year of hire). • Minimum of 4 years certified/licensed at EMT level or higher. • At least 2 years of field experience as a Paramedic. • NAEMSE Level I Educator Certification (or ability to obtain within 1 year). • Experience in a training or educational setting.&nbsp;

• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. • Knowledge of current EMS practices and instructional techniques. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively. • Experience with student evaluation, field internship coordination, and curriculum development.
