This faculty position supports the Civil and Construction Engineering program by delivering high-quality instruction, laboratory experiences, and instructional materials that promote student learning and achievement of established outcomes. The role emphasizes curriculum development and continuous improvement aligned with industry standards; active participation in professional development, institutional service, and program assessment; collaboration with faculty, staff, industry partners, and advisory boards; engagement in accreditation and grant-related activities; support for student access and workforce development; shared responsibility for the operation and upkeep of classrooms, laboratories, and equipment; and active involvement in student recruitment and community outreach in support of the College’s mission.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
50%&nbsp; A. Create instructional materials and laboratory experiences and teach courses at a variety of times in response to institutional needs, evaluate students’ progress toward achievement of stated student learning outcomes and inform them in a timely manner of their progress in the course, contribute to management of labs, and equipment, develop or update course syllabi for courses within the college guideline and curriculum as necessary to remain current with the industry, reviews, evaluates, and recommends student learning materials.&nbsp;
20% B. Responsible for professional development and institutional service as determined in consultation with the Department Head. Work with other faculty, staff, and local industries and organizations to continually refine and improve the Civil and Construction Engineering program. Such duties to be performed include: developing new course materials or courses as required to maintain program currency in emerging technologies in the field of Civil and Construction Engineering, and the development of coursework associated with it; completing assessment requirements relative to the program; engaging members of an active advisory board; participate in evaluating and preparing articulation agreements and prior learning assessments.
10% C. Provides access to students through posted office hours, electronic communication, and other appropriate methods, serve on internal and external committees for the College and the community at large. Work with Workforce and Community Development department to develop workforce solutions within the area of Civil and Construction Engineering.
10% D. Involvement in assessment and ATMAE accreditation process, writing grant proposals related to program goals and objectives, as well as participating in grant activities
&nbsp;5% E. Share responsibility for day-to-day operation and routine upkeep of classrooms, labs, and equipment. Perform related duties as assigned.

JOB STANDARDS: Minimum Faculty Qualifications&nbsp;

<li>Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or closely related area from a regionally accredited institution, or master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution with a concentration in the teaching discipline (a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or closely related area).

<li>A minimum of one year of teaching experience at the college level.

FUNCTION OF THE JOB:
Tennessee College of Applied Technology Shelbyville is accepting applications for a Welding Technology Instructor position. The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, and located at the Main Campus, 2905 US 231 North, Shelbyville, TN.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Title: Instructor, Architectural Design Technology – Full-time (Temporary)
POSITION SUMMARY This position is responsible for delivering quality instruction in Architectural Design Technology.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Teach courses on-ground at the assigned campus/instructional site/work location. Other instructional delivery modes, such as online, hybrid or web-enhanced, taught from the assigned campus/instructional site/work location, may be assigned based on operational needs, as determined by the College. Perform job duties from the assigned campus/instructional site/work location. Work with course leads and/or program coordinators to ensure consistent student experiences. Utilizing the college’s learning management system, provide updated accurate and updated course materials to students. Submit updated course syllabi prior to the first day of class. Regularly check College email and departmental mailbox. Respond to emails/messages within 24 hours except on weekends.
Complete all required reports such as student engagement, Early Alerts, progress reports and grade submissions. Administer and return surveys and student outcome assessments by the required deadlines. Engage in departmental institutional effectiveness activities. Submit final grades for each semester by the deadline established by the registrar. Serve as academic advisor to students as assigned. Comply with all college and TBR policies and guidelines. This position will be based on the White Bridge Road campus with teaching assignments primarily at the White Bridge Road campus.
