Job Summary
Provides classroom/lab instruction and counseling for students in their chosen field of study. Administers his/her assigned program and public service to the community and its employers. Reports to the Vice President and ultimately the President.
Job Duties
<ul>
<li>% - 1. Instructs students, utilizing lesson plans developed per the approved curriculum utilizing accepted instructional practices. 2. Counsels students pursuant to school policies/procedures, accepted workplace behaviors and procurement of jobs in their chosen field. 3. Collects and/or analyzes data pursuant to class performance including, but not limited to, test scores, attendance, drop outs, placements, and general student satisfaction. Takes action as indicated. 4. Participates in professional development activities to ensure a continuous upgrading of technical and instructional skills. 5. Provides technical and teaching expertise for local employers needing assistance. 6. Consults with area educational institutions in matters of articulation, curriculum development, special activities, etc. 7. Formulates, under the guidance of the President, program budgets as assigned. 8. Recommends for purchase, program supplies and equipment necessary for classroom excellence. 9. Facilitates the activities of the occupational advisory committee to ensure timely, constructive input for the program. 10. Facilitates and/or participates in student campus activities. 11. Participates in community service activities. 12. Performs related tasks as assigned. - (Essential)</li>

Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or Equivalent Certificate of diploma in instructional area or equivalent training with credentials in related field. Minimum three (3) years of employment experience in the occupation to be taught.

POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
DIESEL POWERED EQUIPMENT TECHNOLOGY INSTRUCTOR
The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Crump is accepting applications for the full-time position of Diesel Powered Equipment Technology Instructor in the Diesel-Powered Equipment Technology program. This position will be at the Parsons Extension Campus in Parsons, TN.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
<ul>
<li>Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalency.&nbsp; Associate Degree preferred.</li>
<li>Minimum five (5) years of experience in the diesel field.</li>
<li>Must possess a high degree of knowledge of all areas involved in the diesel field to include heavy equipment and farm machinery.</li>
<li>Must possess a current Master ASE Medium/Heavy Duty Truck Certification or the ability to become certified within twelve (12) calendar months.</li>
<li>Must commit to remain Master Certified and maintain program accreditation.</li>
<li>ASE Certification in Automotive Technology a plus.</li>
<li>Strong hands-on technical background in preventative maintenance, diesel engines, electrical/electronics, brakes, drive train, suspension and steering, and heating-ventilation and air-conditioning.</li>
<li>Must possess the organizational and communications skills necessary to be an effective teacher and to interact with high school and adult students.</li>
<li>Must show evidence of good character, mature attitude and stable personality.</li>
<li>Must possess computer skills.</li>
</ul>
GENERAL DUTIES:&nbsp; The Diesel Powered Equipment Technology Instructor is responsible for providing individualized classroom and lab instruction to students.&nbsp; The Instructor must monitor, grade, and evaluate individual students’ progress, maintain student records in the college’s student records management software, maintain appropriate documentation, and submit timely reports.&nbsp; The instructor must also maintain good public relations with related business and industry, maintain an active advisory committee, cooperate with outside agencies and supervise and follow-up on students participating in cooperative education.&nbsp;
Other duties include curriculum development, student recordkeeping, and student recruitment, placement, follow-up of program graduates, participation in professional development activities, and participation in student organizations.&nbsp; Some travel is required.
SALARY:&nbsp; Commensurate with Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology salary guidelines.

Minimum Qualifications:

<li>Post-secondary education in Health Information Management, Medical Office Administration, or healthcare related field</li>
<li>Certified Professional Coder, related certification or ability to obtain professional certification</li>
<li>Three years’ work experience in the field of medical coding and billing and electronic health record systems or related experience</li>
<li>Must possess the organizational and communication skills necessary to be an effective instructor</li>
<li>Commitment to utilizing technology in the teaching/learning experience and willingness to stay up-to-date on current and upcoming technology</li>
</ul>
