02-Oct-2024<h4>Research Manager, Arts Program (MCH)</h4>Faculty of Arts and Sciences 66997BRJob SummaryThis will be an international position, based in LMSAI office in Delhi, India, and employed by Harvard Global Research Support Center, India - an affiliate of Harvard University or by another affiliate of Harvard University.Position DescriptionUnder the direction of the India Associate Country Director of LMSAI, the Research Manager, Arts Program (MCH)will be responsible for following roles and responsibilities:<ul><li>Assist with the India operation of the Mapping Color in History (MCH) project</li><li>Reach out and help connect with new institutions / conservators interested in conducting pigment analysis research;</li><li>Oversee the safe transfer and receipt of equipment for collaboration with new institutions;</li><li>Oversee and conduct documentation and analytical research on-site on the collections of collaborating institutions in India;</li><li>Refine the analysis workflow depending on the on-site setting and facilities available at the collaborating institution;</li><li>Refine the workflow documentation templates for each institution in consultation with Dr. Jinah Kim, Dr. Michele Derrick and the on-site collaborating institution staff;</li><li>Coordinate borrowing / renting of equipment from institutions, if and where required</li><li>Help organize the analytical data for the MCH database;</li><li>Prepare manuscript / artwork condition reports to share with the collaborating institution;</li><li>Prepare analytical reports using the MCH templates following the guidelines to share with the collaborating institutions</li><li>Undertake rehousing of collections if requested by the collaborating institution</li><li>Resolve equipment related operational issues and advice on further equipment and/or accessories to be purchased for the MCH mobile lab</li><li>Conduct equipment demo sessions for collaborating institutions</li><li>Help with training RAs</li><li>Assist with the pigment sample collection from living artisans and artisan groups, on site documentation of the contemporary pigment production processes being used and help with information required for analysis at Harvard Art Museum</li></ul>Basic QualificationsBachelor's degree with 3+ years of work experience in the field of arts researchAdditional Qualifications and Skills<ul><li>Master's degree preferred.</li><li>Experience with conducting research in arts field and managing research projects</li><li>Subject matter knowledge in arts conservation</li><li>Strong networking and communication skills.</li><li>Fluent in spoken and written English.</li><li>Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to multi-task in a small team.</li><li>The candidate should be flexible to work with colleagues in different time zones.</li><li>Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail and follow-through are essential.</li><li>Demonstrated excellent organizational skills.</li><li>Demonstrated experience working independently and as part of a team.</li></ul>Additional InformationThis will be an international position, based in LMSAI office in Delhi, India, and employed by Harvard Global Research Support Center, India - an affiliate of Harvard University or by another affiliate of Harvard University. 02-Oct-2024<h4>FAS Research Administration Specialist</h4>Faculty of Arts and Sciences 67051BRPosition DescriptionThe FAS Research Administration Specialist provides comprehensive pre- and post-award sponsored research support to FAS departments, centers, and units during vacancies, leaves, or when additional support is needed. &nbsp;This is a full-time role that offers broad visibility through the opportunity to provide support to specific departments in the FAS through varied assignments.&nbsp; Assignments are expected to last no more than six months each and may overlap depending on departmental needs.&nbsp; While short-term assignments will be based in departments and will require collaboration with departmental research administration, this role will also collaborate closely with and provide coverage for the other members of the FAS Office of Research Administration (FORA).Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:&nbsp;<ul><li>Provide comprehensive pre-and/or post-award sponsored administration support in collaboration and/or on behalf of departments/divisions.&nbsp;</li></ul><ul><li>Partner directly with Principal Investigators to manage the lifecycle of their research portfolios from proposal submission through award closeout.&nbsp;</li></ul><ul><li>In addition to departmental assignments, work with departments, faculty, and Research Development to facilitate the preparation and submission of large-scale, center-based, or collaborative-intensive proposals.&nbsp;</li></ul><ul><li>Provide routine post-award reconciliations and monitoring to departments/centers/units with low sponsored research volume and limited research administration personnel.&nbsp;</li></ul><ul><li>Work with local units to facilitate and provide additional support for audits.&nbsp;</li></ul><ul><li>Provide onboarding, mentoring, and one-on-one coaching to new research administration personnel in FAS.&nbsp;</li></ul><ul><li>Act as a subject matter resource for the FAS research community.&nbsp;</li></ul><ul><li>Other duties as assigned.</li></ul>Basic Qualifications<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required</li><li>Minimum of 5 years’ relevant work experience</li><li>Advanced knowledge of sponsored research regulations</li></ul>Additional Qualifications and SkillsThe following Additional Qualifications are strongly preferred.
