Position Summary
Responsible for classroom, laboratory, and related instruction, as well as curriculum development for courses within the Electrical Engineering Technology program. This position serves the needs of the College, division, faculty, and students and reports to the Engineering Systems Technology Department Head.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Teaching Excellence and Program Innovation

<li>Teach assigned courses in discipline; facilitate the classroom instructional process</li>
<li>Work to develop and improve curriculum, maintaining industry relevance</li>
<li>Select texts, supplemental documents, equipment, supplies, and other learning resources</li>
<li>use current technology in preparation, creation and delivery of instruction</li>
<li>create and revise courses and/or curricula as needed</li>
<li>maintain updated course syllabi.</li>
<li>Maintain attendance and grade records</li>
<li>Mentor and orient faculty and staff</li>
<li>Maintain required classroom and office hours</li>
<li>Work collaboratively with advisory committee</li>

<li>Maintain accurate records of student progress and program outcomes, review and analyze assessment data, compile reports, and meet academic and administrative deadlines</li>
<li>Implement strategies to prevent potential conflicts and maintain a positive learning environment. Resolve any conflicts in a timely and effective manner</li>
<li>Ensure campus compliance with all federal, state, and regulatory bodies’ guidelines, along with internal policies of the College</li>

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a qualifying field, or an associate’s degree in a qualifying field with certifications, or an associate’s degree in a qualifying field and 2 years applicable work experience, or nationally recognized certification within subject matter&nbsp;OR&nbsp;by exception.&nbsp; Teaching Experience is a plus.
Qualifying Fields: Electromechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering, Engineering Technology, Electromechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, or Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Technical related degree
Special requirements and conditions
A flexible schedule and some travel are required; a valid vehicle operator’s license is necessary.
Must be able to work with dual-enrollment high school students (a background check and fingerprinting will be required).
Projected Salary Range:
Instructor: $40,502 - $49,610
Assistant Professor: $45,040 - $56,300
*Pay will be determined based on experience and education in accordance with the salary guidelines of the Tennessee Board of Regents. To ensure consideration, all relevant work experience must be included in the application.*

Job Summary: Perform specific duties related to instruction in nuclear power operations; course and curriculum development; professional growth; service to students, and service to the college and community. Deliver classroom, laboratory, or related nuclear operator instruction according to ANS and ABET accreditation guidelines. Operate and maintain Nuclear Power Simulator and utilize in classroom and lab instruction.

Required Qualifications: 
Bachelor’s degree in a qualifying field, or an associate degree in a qualifying field with certifications, or an Associate degree in a qualifying field and 5 years applicable work experience. All qualified applicants must hold or have held a professional license from the NRC as a Senior Reactor Operator or Senior Reactor Operator Certification with at least 5&nbsp;years of experience in the field. Qualifying fields are Chemical, Mechanical, Nuclear Engineering or Engineering Technology or Nuclear Power Operations. Experience with GPWR Nuclear Simulation Software and NUCP certification are a plus. Ability to write operating procedures based on engineering and technical specifications is needed.
