The Director of State Government Relations will serve as a key liaison between the Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR), the Tennessee General Assembly, and other government agencies. Working in collaboration with the AVC, the Coordinator for Government Relations, and the Executive Vice Chancellor for External Affairs, the Director is responsible for monitoring, tracking, and analyzing all proposed state legislation and assessing its potential effects on the TBR System. The Director will provide strategic advice and direction on how legislative activity may impact the System’s budget and policy priorities—particularly those related to student recruitment, support, progression, and completion. POSITION SUMMARY This position is responsible for tracking and assisting students by providing holistic services from pre-enrollment to completion for a defined set of students with a primary goal of assisting them with overcoming barriers to their success in college.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Build relationships with students to achieve their identified goals and objects. Review student progress and track student use of academic support services. Assist students in identifying factors that contribute to lack of academic progress, help students examine alternatives, and apply appropriate retention strategies to support students’ efforts. The Mental Health Counselor develops, promotes, and facilitates mental health and social service activities that support students in managing barriers that will impede their educational success. This position blends collaboration and consultation with colleagues on and off campus, as well as other support resources with non-clinical and clinical student case management, short-term counseling, program coordination, systems development, and leadership in addressing factors that contribute to student attrition and improve student success.

      Instructor, English - 9/10 Month (Term)
    

The Director of Workforce Data will be responsible for the collection, analysis, and dissemination of data related to noncredit workforce training offered at TBR colleges. This includes the development of near-real time dashboards that provide insight into training opportunities, enrollment patterns, contact hour accrual, and other metrics related to noncredit training. Additionally, in collaboration with TBR’s Center for Workforce Development, the Director will create routine and ad hoc resources to support TBR and Tennessee initiatives related to workforce training, such as the state’s TNWORKS initiative. This includes merging multiple disparate data sources to create an all-encompassing view of different workforce training opportunities and student outcomes.
As a part of TBR’s team working to scale noncredit data solutions, the Director of Workforce Data will help identify noncredit data priorities and subsequent data standards requirements. Working with the Senior Director of Data Strategy, the Director will also have responsibility for ensuring data collected from colleges is of high quality and meets established requirements. Finally, the Director of Workforce Data will routinely liaise with members of the Center for Workforce Development to support oversight of a common community college LMS and ensure that the Center’s data needs are met.
This position may have the opportunity to work hybrid within the state of Tennessee but with periodic (weekly) visits to the TBR System Office (Nashville, TN) at the employee’s expense, and potential travel to Tennessee TBR colleges may be necessary.


      Director of Workforce Data
    

GENERAL DUTIES:&nbsp;The Student Services Coordinator is responsible for the effective and efficient operation of all aspects of the department at the Murfreesboro and Smyrna campuses including, but not limited to financial aid, student records, student counseling, job placement, admissions and recruiting. This position oversees and participates in the compilation, maintenance and submission of reports as required by federal, state and accrediting agencies. The Student Services Coordinator also oversees enrollment of dual enrollment students from area high schools, updates student catalogs/handbooks and college literature, assists with accreditation activities for the college, coordinates and conducts new student orientations, assists with Perkins Grant submissions/recordkeeping, processes student ADA accommodation requests, coordinates and participates in graduation ceremonies at all campus locations, provides high quality customer service to current and prospective students, and performs other duties as assigned. Travel to all campus locations will be required on a regular basis. This full-time position reports to the President and is based at the Murfreesboro Campus. Scheduled work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This is not a remote work position.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

<li>Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university. A comparable combination of education and post-secondary employment experience may be considered.</li>
<li>Minimum of five (5) years of full-time employment in education, business or industry.</li>
