Job Summary
The Assistant Director of Advising/Dual Credit reports directly to the Associate Dean of Advising Services. The Assistant Director provides support and management to both Advising Services and the Dual Credit Office, serving as second in command in both areas. The Assistant Director supports lead in both areas to implement strategies to promote both retention and new student enrollment. The Assistant Director provides training to all new advisors/dual credit advisors and takes the lead in producing resources/materials for staff and external partners. 




Job Duties:

<li>Serve as second in charge of Advising Services and Dual Credit.

<li>Manage both Administrative Assistants in Advising Services. 
</li>
<li>Manage and assist with transfer initiatives (KCTCS peer team, transfer partners, and transfer events).

<li>Provide leadership related to enrollment management for advising/dual credit to include:

<li>Serve as liaison for advising/dual credit with PRMA to promote advising/dual credit for all pivotal registration periods.

<li>Assist with dual credit and transfer partner visits/events.

The Admissions Counselor/Recruiter will create and maintain a welcoming and high-energy atmosphere for students and staff while providing exceptional customer service at all campus locations. This role actively supports and participates in various campus recruitment and retention efforts, ensuring students are guided throughout the admissions process. The counselor will assist in organizing and managing events such as graduations, national signing days, open houses, job fairs, student orientations, campus tours, and other student-centered activities.
The position involves extensive engagement with area high schools through tours, speaking engagements, and dual enrollment initiatives, all while maintaining strict compliance with admission, registration, and financial aid regulations. Counselors provide both group and individual orientations and offer guidance on admissions requirements and career paths. They also assist applicants in navigating the Banner portal for admissions, registration, and financial aid processes.
Maintaining regular communication with applicants is essential, as is updating and managing content for social and traditional media platforms. The Admissions Counselor/Recruiter develops marketing materials and collaborates with community agencies to promote college programs. Furthermore, they offer referral services to help meet students' educational, emotional, and physical needs, including disability services.
This role requires ongoing professional development and training, as well as the flexibility to work additional hours to support college events. Travel is occasionally required for recruitment and outreach efforts. At American Career College, you will have the opportunity to share your expertise and passion with the next generation of nurses.You will make an impact by:&nbsp;<ul><li>Delivering class and/or clinical instruction according to an approved curriculum using accepted and effective teaching methods.</li><li>Supervising students while they work with patients or in the clinical setting, assessing their ability to effectively apply knowledge from the classroom, master necessary skills, communicate effectively, and plan patient care in the clinical environment.</li><li>Developing daily lesson plans; advising, remediating, and tutoring students; maintaining current and accurate attendance and grade records; remaining current in applicable program teaching field.</li><li>Participating in faculty meetings, professional growth activities in the respective field and two (2) in-service training sessions annually.</li><li>Participating in college activities such as in-services, faculty meetings, student functions, graduation exercises, open houses, new student orientations, and advisory board meetings.</li><li>Striving for student success by providing quality instruction that results in students’ achievement of academic goals and program requirements, retention of students, and preparation for entry-level positions in the healthcare field.&nbsp;</li></ul>Your Experience Includes:OPTION 1:<ul><li>(must align with Education for OPTION 1 Below)- 2 years nursing experience as a RN or LVN within the last 5 years.</li></ul>OPTION 2:<ul><li>(must align with Education for OPTION 2 below)- 6 years nursing experience as LVN and RN combined or 6 years of either.</li></ul>Education:OPTION 1:<ul><li>Baccalaureate degree from accredited school recognized by DOE. Completion of a course or courses offered by an approved school with instruction in teaching.</li></ul>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; OR<ul><li>CA teaching cert. Completion of a course or courses offered by an approved school with instruction in teaching.</li></ul>OR<ul><li>Completion of at least a minimum of (1) year FT teaching experience in a state accredited or approved registered nursing or vocational or practical nursing school within the last 5 years.</li></ul>OPTION 2:<ul><li>Meet community college or state university educational minimums (ADN) teaching requirements in CA.</li></ul>Licenses/Certifications:&nbsp;<ul><li>Current active California license as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Registered Nurse (RN).</li><li>Current CPR Card.</li></ul>#HEJ#LI-MJ1Do you want a career that allows you to make a difference in other people’s lives?
