POSITION SUMMARY This position provides a broad range of specialized laboratory support and guidance to full-time faculty and adjuncts for laboratory science courses.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Works independently under the direction of science faculty. Sets up supplies, materials and equipment for biology and chemistry laboratories, both for individual stations and for instructor-led demonstrations. Guide students through the process of transferring to another institution of higher education through course, program articulation and self-advocacy. Monitor the academic progress of assigned advisees and provide regular outreach to assist the students with staying on track academically. Provide general information about the various forms of financial aid and how the student remains in satisfactory academic progress based on federal and state aid regulations. Refer students to retention related resources which may include but not be limited to counseling, tutoring, financial education and literacy support, career services, co-curricular programs, and other internal and external resources. Work with students who have been reported through the Early Alert system to assist them with securing the needed resources and/or following appropriate college policies or procedures. Manage personalized student communication plans through the customer relationship management software. Reach out to students who have stopped out from previous terms to offer assistance with re-entering the college and to encourage readmission. Assist non first-time applicants (new transfer and readmit) and new first-time freshman students with college processes which lead to enrollment. Analyze data provided through the advising dashboard and other available data sources at the college to inform student success intervention strategies. Provide registration information through class presentations, group advising, automated communication plans, instructional videos, etc. Other duties as assigned.&nbsp;
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and three (3) years of related experience assisting students OR a Master’s degree and one (1) year of related experience assisting students.

POSITION SUMMARY Administration of the Dual Enrollment/Middle College Grant programs and the Federal Work-Study (FWS) Program.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for maintaining a thorough understanding of the state guidelines applicable to the Dual Enrollment and Middle College grant processes. General Function:&nbsp;
Provides leadership to the implementation of institutional mentoring and student coaching programs, BUCKS Scholars Academy, MP3, relational mentoring and advising programs, and first-year relational mentoring programs. Supervises peer mentors who will provide supplemental support to specific student groups such as probation students, learning support students and other high need populations.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree earned from a regionally accredited institution 
Preferred Qualifications:&nbsp; 
Master’s degree earned from a regionally accredited institution and Three (3) years prior experience in higher education student service position(s) advising, student success coaching, career services, mentoring; experience working with student initiatives or services
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Provide leadership, direction, strategic planning, development and implementation of successful peer mentoring efforts. Recruit, supervise, and train peer mentors. Provide advocacy and expertise related to faculty and staff mentors.
•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Provide academic advisement and assistance to students in assigned caseload or populations by creating academic plans, recommending programs of study, making course recommendations, and providing academic strategies to students based on their educational and career goals.
•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Provide students accurate and complete information on degree programs, course requirements, graduation, and various other academic issues associated with completion and success of students with the goal of reasonable time to degree with the least amount of cumulative attempted hours; Providing academic advising support to faculty and various administrative staff in the form of training and information updates.
•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Develop reports and maintain data associated with the required outcomes for the relational advising grant, relational advising model and TN Promise program to submit to Tennessee Board of Regents.
•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Assists the Student Engagement and Retention Initiatives with implementation and coordination of College-Wide retention initiatives.
•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Articulate the campus vision of mentoring and student success coaching, including outreach to students, faculty, staff, and the community.
•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Coordinate peer mentoring efforts for identified student populations i.e. adult learners, veterans

Works closely with college administration to organize student success initiatives to foster a spirit of cross-campus communication and collaboration in support of the mentoring initiatives.
•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Serve as a resource person for faculty and staff as needed; clarify student issues and work with students, other advisors, administrators, faculty, academic deans, Financial Aid, Admissions, Records and the site campus deans to reduce barriers to student success and completion for the identified student groups.
•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Provide coverage of the Student Advising center or attend events evenings or weekends during periods of increased student need or during peak student usage.
•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Performs other duties as assigned

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for the retention of assigned students from orientation to graduation. Maintain regular contact with students to connect them with the appropriate resources to assist in student success.




Monitor student progression and use intervention strategies when necessary to ensure persistence to completion.&nbsp; Utilize predictive analytics to identify at risk students and provide targeted outreach.




Responsible for maintaining accurate student records using internal student tracking software to support current retention initiatives, evaluate student progress, and possible needs for intervention.




Collaborate with other departments and divisions to provide accurate and appropriate information to students regarding college policies, procedures, degree options, course selection, and completion of degree requirements. Make referrals to appropriate stakeholders when necessary.




Assist with new student orientation for advisement and guidance of students with registration.




Meet with students or other stakeholders individually or in groups to disseminate information, gather feedback or address issues as necessary




Provide coverage of the Student Success center evenings or weekends during periods of increased student need or during peak student usage.
