Position PurposeThe Associate Vice President of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion serves as the college’s diversity officer (CDO) and provides college-wide leadership for the college’s diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging efforts in support of the college’s mission, values, and strategic framework. The position manages the day-to-day operations of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion department and serves as a subject matter expert, providing guidance and recommendations to administrators, staff, and faculty in the areas of diversity, equity, and intercultural responsiveness. This position ensures the furtherance of strategic goals and compliance with the college’s Affirmative Action Plan, Minnesota State Colleges and Universities policies, and local, state, and federal regulations.The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion department works collaboratively with key partners in the College community (Office of the Provost, Human Resources, Center for Professional Development and Collaboration, Employee Ombuds and Student Ombuds) to provide strategic leadership, suggest strategic professional education, oversees the collection and reporting of data, and investigation of complaints filed under applicable Federal and State of Minnesota Statutes, Century College and Minnesota State Board of Trustees policies.This is a cabinet level position that reports to the College President or designee.
