Job Summary &nbsp;The job assists in the design and implementation of advisory programs focused on students' career developments. The Assistant Director, Career Services will be part of a small, but high-functioning team of career professionals serving the MA programs in the Social Sciences (525 students). As an advisor, coach and educator, the role provides one-on-one and small group support for all phases of the career and job search lifecycle, creates and facilitates innovative career management programming including large classroom workshops, experiential learning opportunities, and special events (i.e., panels, webinars, conferences) while sourcing expert alumni and corporate volunteers. The role will also be responsible for a variety of other high-level responsibilities, for which they will exercise leadership, collaborate with other offices as needed, contribute to the ongoing development of a strategic vision, innovate improvements, and take ownership of an essential part of our Career Services operation including employer and alumni relations, resource development, MA leadership initiatives and support, and general communications. Motlow State is located in the beautiful rolling hills of middle Tennessee and has four campuses that serve students from eleven counties. Motlow positions are contingent upon funding availability and budget approval.

General Function:&nbsp;
Effectively, correctly and timely applies accounting principles to the maintenance of fiscal records and performing related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. One (1) year of full-time accounting or cashiering related experience
Preferred Qualifications:&nbsp; 
High school diploma or equivalent supplemented by courses in accounting principles and practices.&nbsp; Two (2) years of full time cashiering or accounting related experience within an institutional business office and/or State Education Agency office
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Serve as a back-up to the front-line service window for students and others needing to conduct financial business or make inquiries.&nbsp; Assist with phone calls and emails coming into the business office and routing to appropriate personnel.&nbsp; Help maintain the automated parking system for student and staff and assist with registration as needed.</li>
<li>Assist the lead cashier in maintaining the cash receipt system, posting payments, and performing daily reconciliations.&nbsp; Assist with Financial Aid checks prior to distribution to students and verifying they have provided all required certifications and identification.</li>
<li>Assist with processing all incoming mail for the business office and route to appropriate individuals and serve as back up for posting outgoing mail.&nbsp; Sort and prepare checks for distribution to individuals and vendors.</li>
<li>Assist Purchasing and Contracts and Accounts Payable functions to process disbursement requests, Pcard receipts, fupload documents, travel reimbursements for vendor payments and employees through Sciquest. Assist with monitoring business office operating supplies</li>
<li>Assist accounting staff with pulling documentation for grants, compiling information for reports for internal departments, TBR and audit or requests.</li>
<li>Assist with the scanning of accounting documents.</li>
<li>Other duties as assigned.</li>
</ul>
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
<ul>
<li>Strong computer skills, including but not limited to Ellucian Banner Finance, SciQuest, Touchnet, word processing, Excel spreadsheets, e-mail, database, and internet.</li>
<li>Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community.</li>
<li>Knowledge of confidentiality statutes and policies as they apply to financial transactions involving students, staff and vendors including but not limited to FERPA, Financial Aid program requirements and employment.</li>
<li>Ability to establish and maintain effective professional relationships with students, colleagues and other stakeholders.</li>
<li>Knowledge of customer service principles and practices and the ability to effectively apply them in the higher education environment.</li>
