POSITION SUMMARY This position is responsible for research and analysis activities associated with gathering, processing and disseminating institutional information. These activities will provide decision support for the president of the college and her cabinet, for reports to the Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR) and Tennessee Higher Education Commission (THEC), for support of the NashGRAD program, for use in required surveys and reports and for providing information to appropriate internal and external constituents.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Communicates with faculty, staff, administrators, and external partners to understand their data needs and how best to support their programs. Provides data and analytical support to the NashGRAD program to meet program and administration needs for the planning and assessment of program priorities and goals. Manages, analyzes and reports NashGRAD data in collaboration with NashGRAD program leadership.
Understands the available resources that can be applied to a question and work with the requestor to provide accurate and insightful solutions. Assembles and executes SQL code from the NSCC code repository to gather necessary data. Analyzes data to measure progress toward institutionally defined goals, to address on demand requests, and to fulfill required reporting to TBR, THEC, and IPEDS.
Assists in the development and support of data visualizations, including Power BI dashboards. Assists in developing appropriate data systems to support institutional planning and policy-making procedures. Coordinates with the Technology Services Division to manage automatic processes. Prepares routine and on demand reports and maintains documentation for assigned projects.

Job Purpose: 
The Dean of Written, Oral, and Digital Communications is an advocate for student learning and is responsible for academic leadership in division development, assessment and growth. Specifically, the dean monitors existing programs and division operations and instructional effectiveness, identifies/develops new programs that align with College and workforce needs, supervises and evaluates division employees, creates an environment that promotes innovation, and collaborates with other College departments to facilitate student success via academic and student support functions.
*This is a non-faculty staff position, and will be located on both the Columbia and Williamson, TN Campuses.
Essential Functions:

POSITION SUMMARY This position is responsible for delivering quality instruction on a variety of computer science topics including a variety of computer programming languages.

Title: Police Officer
POSITION SUMMARY Under general supervision, performs all duties of a Police Officer, including enforcing applicable laws, ordinances, policies and procedures. Patrols the campus by foot, bicycle or motor vehicle.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/ JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Protects life and property of the general public within the jurisdiction of the Nashville State Community College Police Department. Responds and takes the lead in atypical situations and emergencies, until relieved by higher authority. Assists with training activities and in-service presentations for other Police Officers, Security Officers and the campus population. Observes and reports suspected crimes, accidents or activities of a questionable/suspicious nature. Discourages unlawful activities. Works with the Chief of Police to plan, organize and implement security for campus functions, special events, crisis management and disaster planning.
Reports incidents involving persons or property, reporting likely cause of accidents, pursuing appropriate course of action and informing proper authorities as required. Cooperates with other law enforcement officials and jurisdictions and testifies in court or legal proceedings as required. Operates and maintains safety and security department equipment. Keeps records and makes reports. Makes recommendations to the Chief of Police on the development and implementation of comprehensive security programs, policies and procedures. Serves as liaison with contract security company and officers. Provide guidance in coordination with Chief of Police for the contract security officers. Responds to requests for assistance, such as jump-starting cars, unlocking doors, giving directions, etc., from students, faculty and staff. Maintains all training to ensure P.O.S.T certification is current.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma or educational equivalent
Two years of work experience in law enforcement
Possess a valid Tennessee driver’s license. Out of state applicants must obtain a Tennessee driver’s license within thirty (30) days of hire
Current certification by the Tennessee Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) Commission, per TCA 38-8-107, or the ability to become P.O.S.T. certified within six (6) months of hire.
Must pass a medical examination/drug screening and a psychological evaluation
Must pass a thorough background investigation, including a favorable criminal background report and motor vehicle record. Must never have been convicted of or pled guilty to or entered a plea of nolo contendere to any felony charge or to any violation of any federal or state laws or city ordinances relating to force, violence, theft or controlled substances
Must have received an honorable discharge if served in the U.S. armed forces Have his/her fingerprints on file with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice or related field
Current P.O.S.T. certification
Crisis management or emergency management training and experience
Experience policing in a higher education setting
Knowledge of the Clery Act
Ability to speak a second language, particularly Spanish or Arabic
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Ability to operate two-way radios, firearms, handcuffs, cell phones and other law enforcement equipment. Title: Instructor, Mathematics – 9/10 Month (Term)
POSITION SUMMARY This position is responsible for delivering quality instruction in an equitable environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Teach courses via on-ground, online, hybrid or web-enhanced delivery modes as assigned. Work with course leads and/or program coordinators/directors to ensure consistent and equitable student experiences. Utilize the college’s learning management system to provide course materials to students. Submit updated department syllabi prior to the first day of class. Regularly check NSCC email and departmental mailbox. Respond to emails/messages within 48 hours except on the weekend.
Complete all required reports such as student engagement, Early Alerts, progress reports, grade submissions; administer and return surveys and student outcome assessments by the required deadlines. Engage in departmental institutional effectiveness activities. Submit final grades for each semester by the deadline established by the registrar. Work with students as academic advisor as assigned. Comply with all college and TBR policies and guidelines.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Master’s degree in Mathematics (OR) Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in Mathematics
