The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Northwest is accepting applications for a part-time Adult Education Instructor at the TCAT Northwest Ripley Branch Campus. Job Purpose:&nbsp; A full-time faculty is responsible for delivering instruction in various formats (on-line, in person, video-conferencing, or any combination of methods) in the discipline(s) for which she/he has been employed. Instruction may take place at any of the college’s campuses, at a clinical partner facility, or at a designated temporary location. Faculty also provide academic advising and facilitate student success. Technology tools are routinely used to communicate with and support students.&nbsp; Faculty participate in divisional and institutional activities related to the college’s mission, engage with communities of interest, and promote college programs.
Faculty accepting the appointment of program directors have certain administrative responsibilities in addition to their faculty responsibilities. 
Program Director Job Purpose:&nbsp; The program director provides leadership for a specific program, ensures that the program operates smoothly, develops and implements student recruitment plans and activities, maintains any applicable accreditations, and assists the division dean with the supervision and evaluation of faculty and staff in the program.
Program Directors typically receive one three-hour course re-assignment to attend the administrative duties and to collaborate with practitioners and employers in their program field.

Job Specifications

Education, Training and Experience Required:

As a communications coach for SCADamp, the university’s professional presentation studio, you will prepare creatives to amplify their stories through verbal, visual, and interpersonal communication. To accomplish this, you will develop, promote, and conduct workshops, training, coaching, and professional development for students, alumni, faculty, and staff. You will ensure that their professional presentation skills are developed to skillfully articulate content to various audiences. Workshops will focus on interpersonal communication to enhance professional opportunities, along with other relevant topics. Responsibilities include regular classroom visits for observation, coaching, and feedback, one-on-one appointments, and collaboration with various departments to ensure success for both the university and its students. Job Summary
Part time faculty are hired as needed on a semester-to-semester basis and typically teach up to nine credit hours during the semester. Columbia State offers classes at five campuses: Columbia Campus, Williamson Campus, Lawrenceburg Campus, Lewisburg Campus, and Clifton Campus. Columbia State also offers classes at several off-campus locations and clinical sites.
Minimum Qualifications
Instructor Assistant – Currently licensed as a Tennessee EMT – Basic (or higher) without history of revocation, suspension, or denial of licensure. Minimum one-year pre-hospital experience. Minimum 75 hours EMS related teaching experience acceptable to the TN EMS Board and current BLS Instructor Certification.
Instructor Coordinator – Associate degree. Current TN EMT-Paramedic license without history of revocation, suspension, or denial of licensure. Two years’ experience practicing advanced life support in the pre-hospital environment; minimum 300 hours EMS related teaching experience (or two years EMS education administration). Current endorsement in an EMS Board approved trauma, cardiac, and pediatric course (instructor preferred). Completion of EMS Board approved Instructors’ course.

Salary is $560 per credit hour. Workload adjustments will be made for faculty teaching classes where the number of contact hours exceeds the number of credit hours. Additionally, a travel stipend may be negotiated at time of hire for faculty traveling more than 80 miles each week to teach their classes. For part-time faculty who continue to work at Columbia State, salary is based on collegiate level teaching experience documented during the first semester of teaching.
Part-Time Faculty Duties and Responsibilities
The part-time faculty member reports directly to the dean for assignments/duties and is responsible for:
