Title: Instructor, Mathematics 9/10 month (Term)– Clarksville campus
POSITION SUMMARY This position is responsible for delivering quality instruction in an equitable environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Teach courses via on-ground, online, hybrid or web-enhanced delivery modes as assigned. Work with course leads and/or program coordinators/directors to ensure consistent and equitable student experiences. Utilize the college’s learning management system to provide course materials to students. Submit updated department syllabi prior to the first day of class. Regularly check NSCC email and departmental mailbox. Respond to emails/messages within 48 hours except on the weekend.
Complete all required reports such as student engagement, Early Alerts, progress reports, grade submissions; administer and return surveys and student outcome assessments by the required deadlines. Engage in departmental institutional effectiveness activities. Submit final grades for each semester by the deadline established by the registrar. Work with students as academic advisor as assigned. Comply with all college and TBR policies and guidelines.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Master’s degree in Mathematics (OR) Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in Mathematics
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Collegiate level teaching experience
Demonstrated commitment to equity and accessibility
Ability to teach upper-level mathematics courses
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Knowledge and/or experience using a variety of instructional delivery modes. Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS – All Programs Except Cosmetology

<li>Minimum of Technical Diploma in instructional area or equivalent higher education training with credentials in a related field from an accredited educational institution. Associate Degree preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of technical diploma.</li>
<li>Minimum of three years of experience in the instructional area.</li>
<li>Knowledge of safety procedures in the instructional area.</li>
<li>Must be willing and available to work as needed between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on weekdays.</li>

<li>Minimum of Technical Diploma from accredited Cosmetology program, Associate Degree preferred.</li>

<li>Minimum of three years of experience in the instructional area.</li>
<li>Teaching, training or salon management experience preferred.</li>

<li>Must be willing and available to work as needed between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on weekdays.</li>

SKILLS – All Programs:

GENERAL DUTIES:&nbsp; Substitutes provide classroom support on an as-needed basis, sometime with little advance notice. This position should ensure student training is conducted utilizing all appropriate safety measures. The substitute will facilitate continued training for students in the absence of the full-time instructor. &nbsp;Potential applicants with varied work experience may qualify to substitute in more than one program.
SALARY:&nbsp; Commensurate with Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology salary guidelines.
