Job Summary:
Records and reconciles transactions of the daily financial operations for the college including fiscal year closings and preparing financial statements and schedules, and budget preparation. Assists with the preparation of the financial reports, schedules and footnotes for the college. Assists in verifying that the accounting records are maintained in accordance with governing policies, procedures, and regulations. Performs all financial aid draws. Assists with the schedules and footnotes for the year-end financial reporting for the College. Grant accounting. Assists Assistant Director with BDMS system. Responsible for maintaining accurate and current capital asset reporting and schedules. Performs bank reconciliations.
Job Duties:
Grant Accounting – reviews grant applications, compile and analyze expenditures, prepare billings, arrange draw downs, work with Grants Administrator and Project Managers. Reconciles grant funds in Banner. Manages, reconciles, and prepares reports/draw down requests for all financial aid programs, including direct lending, for VSCC. Assists with the preparation of budgets, annual financial statements, schedules and related footnotes for all reporting entities. Prepare the monthly LGIP reconciliation. Assists with the preparation of the annual financial statements and schedules for college and the foundation. Record financial transactions of the foundation, including scholarship billing, in kind gift transactions and monthly investment reconciliations, monthly financial reports and other reports as requested. Works closely with the foundation staff to ensure the accuracy of financial transactions and reporting. Assists with cash management including preparing monthly bank reconciliations for all entities and daily reporting bank balances to relevant parties. Responsible for maintaining the capital asset records, including tagging, depreciation and reporting for all entities. Record Edison entries from TBR. Prepares college, TBR and THEC reports, as requested. Maintain and reconcile plant funds and prepares informational reports as requested. Prepares Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards. Maintains confidentiality of information and works in accordance with FERPA guidelines on the information disclosure. Works with internal and external auditors, as requested. Maintains a good working relationship with the staff at VSCC and Foundation staff. Assist Assistant Director with BDMS system. Review of check files prior to scanning. Maintains and reports unclaimed property records. Review and reconcile funds, accounts and programs – especially restricted, agency and foundation funds, correct use of program codes and others as assigned. Reconcile accounts, prepare and post adjusting entries: including year-end allocations, collections awaiting distribution account, review of funds, to correct negative balances and others as requested. Maintains Banner and related reporting systems to assure the systems function properly and accurately. Attends training sessions, tests, and implements new versions of Banner, or other software as needed. On a rotating basis, processes payroll transactions; to include transmitting direct deposit files, printing checks, and remittances and feeding files into the financial system. Willingness to assist as needed with Business Office functions. Cross training with other staff to fill in as needed. Participates in committee meetings as assigned. Other duties as assigned.&nbsp;
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field of study and three years of related experience OR Master's degree in accounting or a related field of study and one year of related experience. 
Preferred Qualifications:
Governmental accounting or auditing in higher education setting. Experience with Ellucian Banner ERP system, grant accounting, and Capital Assets forms a plus.

Must demonstrate excellent communication skills (written and verbal). Must be committed to a positive customer service philosophy and willingness to work with others. Must demonstrate advanced skill level using Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Internet. Knowledge and understanding of accounting principles and procedures of financial record keeping and reporting. Must have proven problem solving ability and skills and the ability to learn and document accounting processes. Confident in using own initiative, prioritizing workload and meeting deadlines. Detail oriented with proven analytical and organizational skills.
Pay Rate: $47,276 - $59,095 annual salary depending on experience

POSITION SUMMARY This position is responsible for delivering quality instruction in an equitable environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Teach courses via on-ground, online, hybrid or web-enhanced delivery modes as assigned. Work with course leads and/or program coordinators/directors to ensure consistent and equitable student experiences. Utilize the college’s learning management system to provide course materials to students. Maintain and submit updated department syllabi prior to the first day of class. Regularly check NSCC email and departmental mailbox. Respond to emails/messages within 24 hours except on the weekend. Complete all required reports such as student engagement, Early Alerts, progress reports, grade submissions; administer and return surveys and student outcome assessments by the required deadlines. Engage in departmental institutional effectiveness activities. Submit final grades for each semester by the deadline established by the registrar. Work with students as academic advisor as assigned. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Master’s degree in Accounting; OR
Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Accounting Topics and a current CPA license.

Title: Senior Administrative Associate
POSITION SUMMARY This position will provide directed administrative support to the various divisions within academic affairs and workforce and may at times be assigned to one division for a specified period of time to offer coverage and support as needed.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Perform duties including answering phones, responding to phone/in person/email inquiries, screening calls, and handling related issues. Provide general office management and clerical assistance with copying, printing documents, filing, maintaining records, making phone calls, and processing incoming/outgoing mail, FedEx and UPS. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or equivalent.
Two (2) years’ experience in administrative support.
Proven ability to effectively organize, prioritize and perform multiple job functions, balance conflicting priorities, meet deadlines with short turn-around times and manage changing situations.
Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Associate’s degree from an accredited institution.

Experience with Acalog.
Experienced in preparing documents, reports and presentations.
