Job Summary

Hazard Community & Technical College is seeking applicants for a Student Support Specialist I position. This position provides information and assistance to students seeking scholarship information with specific focus on dual credit students.
NOTE: This position is grant funded.

Job Duties:

Duties to include, but not be limited to:
Travels to schools and recruitment events to inform and advise potential students on scholarship opportunities available and steps for correctly completing all scholarship applications.

Work directly with currently enrolled students applying for scholarships.

Participate in career fairs and other outreach activities to promote the scholarship program

Handles communications with scholarship applications and awardees, including sending award notifications, acceptance, and student thank-you notes to donors. Will also ensure that students reply for continued scholarships

Work in conjunction with the Dean of Advancement to update and maintain Academic Works including managing the appropriate, timely opening, closing, and archiving of application periods. Review and monitor scholarship students' eligibility and progress.

Help students with FAFSA issues and concerns and connect them to HCTC’s financial aid office as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associates Degree plus 3 years or equivalent.
