Job Summary
Elizabethtown Community & Technical College (ECTC) is seeking a Director of Nursing to lead the administrative and instructional activities of the Nursing Program. This full-time, 12-month role involves teaching and administrative responsibilities, encompassing program administration, budget management, and maintaining accreditation standards.
Job Duties:
The Director will supervise faculty and staff at multiple locations and drive the growth and expansion of the program. The successful candidate will ensure the program's operations are safe and compliant with the Kentucky Board of Nursing regulations and the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). This role demands developed organizational and interpersonal skills, a community-focused approach, and a dedication to continuous improvement in collaboration with faculty, support staff, and college administration. The Director administers academic services and provides functional knowledge to internal and external stakeholders.
• Serving as the primary administrator for the Nursing Program, ensuring compliance with the Kentucky Board of Nursing (KBN) and the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).
• Overseeing faculty and staff, addressing personnel matters, student concerns, curriculum, and resource allocation.
• Developing and implementing a comprehensive plan for program evaluation and maintaining effective communication with faculty and staff.
• Leading strategic planning to support the goals and outcomes of the program, including budget management and curriculum implementation.
• Planning and executing strategies necessary for the growth and expansion of the Nursing Program, ensuring it meets future healthcare demands.
• Orienting, mentoring, and evaluating faculty, supporting diverse teaching methods, including distance technologies, and assisting with faculty development needs.
• Managing the development and evaluation of instructional materials, coordinating course schedules and assignments, and promoting a respectful and inclusive culture.
• Ensuring strong community support and cooperation with college administration to implement policies and procedures.
• Performing additional duties as needed to maintain program integrity and effectiveness.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Master’s degree (Nursing) and two years of full-time teaching experience at or above the associate degree level.
• A minimum of five years of nursing experience within the immediate past seven years.
• An unencumbered current license, privilege, or temporary work permit to practice as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Kentucky
