Job Summary
Role of the Admissions & Records Manager is to review and award student degrees in the Ellucian Banner system. The secondary function is to provide leadership to the Admissions and Records team, in conjunction with (and in the absence of) the Director.
Job Duties
- 15% - Provide leadership to the Admissions and Records team in conjunction with (and in the absence of) the director. - (Essential)
- 15% - Assist director with student, faculty and staff issues related to banner and other records. - (Essential)
- 4% - Process outgoing college transcripts and post incoming college transcripts, PLA and dual credit as needed. - (Marginal)
- 1% - Assist international students with the SEVIS process. Serve as Designated School Official in SEVIS for Jackson State. - (Marginal)
- 10% - Review and approve/deny residency applications for students who have been flagged as out-of-state. - (Essential)
- 10% - Submit enrollment file to the National Student Clearinghouse each semester. - (Essential)
- 18% - Process fresh start applications and late withdrawals. - (Essential)
- 2% - Assist in planning the graduation ceremony for Jackson State. - (Marginal)
- 5% - Review coursework for students who have opted in to the reverse transfer program. Award degrees to eligible students. - (Marginal)
- 15% - Review graduation proposals to see if student has met all degree/certificate requirements. Award degrees/certificates in Banner. - (Essential)
- 5% - Submit Report of Graduates file to TBR. - (Essential)
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree. Prior supervisory skills. Prior experience in Admissions & Records or Student Services at a Higher Ed institution.
Preferred Qualifications
2-4 years Experience using Ellucian’s Banner System. Proficient in Microsoft Office Product, Automic (process software to run against the Banner System for National Student Clearinghouse reporting), Argos report system to pull data from Banner.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Baseline knowledge of policy and procedures for serving students. Pays specific attention to details, interpersonal skills as this position communicates with both students, faculty and staff.
Pay Rate: $45,973 - $57,467. Annual salary depending on eligible experience which is defined by the current compensation plan.
