Job Summary:
Rock Valley seeks a dynamic and passionate Adjunct Instructor of English Composition to join our Communications and Humanities Division. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in English Composition, fostering a positive learning environment, and engaging students in the development of their writing skills. This position is ideal for individuals dedicated to promoting academic excellence and student success.
Responsibilities:
  • Teach English Composition Courses: Instruct students in English Composition I and II, adhering to the college’s curriculum guidelines and standards.
  • Course Preparation and Delivery: Prepare and deliver lectures, assignments, and assessments that align with course objectives and learning outcomes.
  • Student Engagement: Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that encourages active participation and engagement.
  • Assessment and Feedback: Evaluate student performance through essays, assignments, and other assessment methods. Provide constructive feedback to support student improvement.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to the department’s initiatives and activities.
  • Compliance: Adhere to college policies, procedures, and academic standards.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Master’s degree in English, Composition, Rhetoric, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of English composition theories and practices.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to engage and inspire a diverse student population.
    • Proficiency in using educational technology and learning management systems.

Preferred Qualifications:
